Dehradun,5 June 2023: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Society for Health, Education and Women Empowerment (SHEWA) and Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Center organized a tree plantation program at Chaura village, Dehradun. Dr. Sujata Sanjay, Dr. Pratik and their team planted trees in this program. SHEWA Society started the campaign to plant saplings on World Environment Day. This initiative is organized by SHEWA Society to make the society aware to boycott plastic bags and goods for environment protection. The theme for this year has been declared as Beat Plastic Pollution, which is the first step towards eliminating plastic waste. Emphasizes on finding settlement solutions.
Dr. Sujata Sanjay said that due to plastic pollution, you can become a victim of many diseases. Such as – silicosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease including heart disease, lung cancer, plastic production workers are at increased risk of leukaemia (blood cancer), lymphoma, brain cancer, breast cancer and reduced fertility. If you want to know nature, you have to go close to it. That is, without understanding nature and environment, we can neither preserve it nor make any effort for it. We are born in the midst of the environment. If we do not try to strike a balance, we will create a new round of crisis. Natural forests are getting destroyed but concrete
forests are visible. Things which are not necessary for us but have become a part of life.

Today it is necessary to plant trees, more important than that is to protect them. Sewer water and industrial water are being dumped
in the rivers. The rivers whose water was sweet have become poisonous. Now nothing will happen without participation. Nature gave us but we could not save it. Today is the day we all have to take a pledge that we should plant more and more trees. Dr. Sujata Sanjay said that the deteriorating weather patterns are not only very dangerous for mankind, animals and plants, but also a serious threat to the environmental balance.

Industrialization, increasing population, decreasing forest area, increasing caravan of vehicles and rapidly changing lifestyle are especially responsible for this problem taking a formidable form of weather and environment. For the last few years, there is excessive reduction in the amount of rainfall, and somewhere there is excessive rainfall, due to which floods are drying up somewhere, rising sea level, frequent changes in weather patterns, tsunamis and earthquakes have created havoc all over the world. Yes, the alarming symptoms like rising temperature of the earth are continuously visible.
Dr. Pratik, Secretary of SHEWA Society, said that our society understands the importance of green environment and environmental protection. We have organized this initiative in an effort to make people aware about environmental protection. Dr. Pratik Sanjay said that the temperature of the earth and its surrounding atmosphere increases due to the effect or intensity of the sun’s rays and after the sun’s rays reach the earth, their excess heat is reflected from the dust particles and clouds present in the atmosphere and back
to space. returns to In this way the balance of the earth’s temperature remains intact.

But due to the increasing concentration of harmful gases in the atmosphere for the last few years and the formation of a layer of these gases in the atmosphere, the temperature balance of the earth is continuously deteriorating. Meteorologists believe that due to global warming, now every year the summer season has started getting excessively hot. At the same time, the rainfall has been less than the average for the last several years.
