Dehradun: Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital has created history by achieving the milestone of conducting the very first successful kidney transplant of the state of Uttarakhand. It’s significant to mention that till today as much as 15 successful kidney transplants have been done at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. It’s worth mentioning that Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital is the hospital providing the treatment of highest number of patients under Ayushman Scheme in the state of Uttarakhand.

Now with the facility of kidney transplant available at Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital under Ayushman Scheme, the patients of Uttarakhand and nearby areas have got big relief. In hospitals of metro cities, the total expenditure of kidney transplant comes between 5 to 10 lacs rupees. Chairman of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji has extended his appreciation and showered his divine blessings over the team carrying out successful kidney transplant consisting of doctors, nursing and other staff for this outstanding achievement.

Patient Prashant Singh Bisht (36 years) was donated a kidney by his mother Mrs. Reena Devi. The team of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital that conducted the successful kidney transplant comprised of kidney specialist Dr. Alok Kumar, Dr. Vivek Ruhela, Dr. Kamal Sharma, Dr. Vivek Vijjan, Dr. Vimal Kumar Dixit and Anesthetist Dr. Ashutosh. After the kidney transplant, the patient has been discharged and is leading a normal life. Patient Prashant Bisht whiel sharing his experience of kidney transplant expressed deep gratitude towards Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital because of whom he has achieved a new life.

He also expressed thankfulness towards Chief Minister of Uttarakhand state, Pushkar Singh Dhami and Ayushman scheme through which he got free treatment. “Kidney Transplant is an extremely critical surgical procedure. The patient and his family must strictly follow the precautions given by the doctors after transplant. Prevention from infection, regular prescribed medication and regular doctor’s consultation is a must. After kidney transplant, the patient can lead a normal life provided he strictly follows the medical guidelines. The role of family members in caring for the patient is as significant as the
