Dehradun, 16th August: The Aryan School celebrated the 75th Independence Day with sheer exuberance on the school campus. Commemorating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the program commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Lt. Col. Gogoi, Chairman of the school Simi Gupta, and Principal B Dasgupta. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by the students, teachers, and staff members.
During the program, students of class 12th, Lavanya and Aryan Aggarwal congratulated the gathering and brought back memories of the great struggle against foreign rule. They also remembered the brave fighters who gave the supreme sacrifice of their lives for the freedom of the country.
Following this, the school students sang the inspiring song Vande Matram and danced to its beats wearing tri-colored costumes that mesmerized one and all present in the audience. The senior students also enacted the true story of the bravery of Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, who won the Veer Chakra as he defended the country in the Kargil war.
During the culmination of the program, the Chief Guest gave a motivating speech reminding students that the future of the nation belongs to them and the value of single-mindedness and devotion to the country. In her address, Principal B Dasgupta expressed the pride we feel being part of a country with such a rich and varied culture. She felicitated the students on being part of the great day, which has reoriented us towards our motherland.
The junior section of the Aryan School also celebrated Independence Day with zeal, with the students from classes UKG to 6th donning tricolored attire.
During the day, a ‘Prabhat Pheri’ was organized wherein the boarders and house parents raised patriotic slogans. Several races were organized for the children, including the lemon race and the hurdles. A quiz contest on ‘India My Native Land’ was also organized by quiz master Alok Rawat, wherein the students won numerous prizes. Students also displayed creativity by making artistic fans and flowers using tricolors.
The festivities of the day ended with the distribution of sweets to the children.
