Dehradun. The doctors of Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital have removed whistle trapped inside the breathing tract of an eleven years old child. The child had engulfed the plastic whistle while playing with it. The whistle had got trapped inside the breathing tract of the child. For the last nine months, the whistle was trapped between the breathing channel and the kidney. The doctors of ENT Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital conducted successful surgery of the child via laparoscopic way.
After the laparoscopic operation, the child is healthy and has been discharged from the hospital. An eleven years old child who was the resident of Mori, Uttarkashi engulfed a whistle while playing nine months ago. The family members had no knowledge about this. When the child was continuously suffering from cough, then the parents took the child to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital for treatment. The doctors of pediatrics deptt. took consultation from the doctors of Ear NoseThroat (ENT) Deptt. of the hospital. ENT sugeon Dr. Apoorva Kumar Pandey along with his team conducted a successful surgery of the child on Saturday, 30 th April 2022.
The parents of the child expressed deep gratitude towards the team of ENT doctors and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. From Pediatrics Deptt., Dr. Nitesh Kumar significant contribution in the treatment. Significant roles were also played by ENT Deptt.’s HOD Dr. Tripti Mamgain and Professor, ENT Deptt., Dr. Arvind Verma.
