Young Indians (Yi) Dehradun Chapter took responsibility for studies of poor children

Dehradun: The Young Indians (Yi) Dehradun Chapter is actively working for the betterment of society and working on social welfare causes. One of the recent initiative undertaken by the Chapter was that of the education of children from financially weak families under the India@75 vertical. The Chapter members volunteered and took responsibility of paying the school and education fee of 10 children from the slum area of Dehradun. A corpus of Rs.2,52,000/- was collected which will be utilised to bring a small change, ensuring good education for these children between the age of 5 years to 11 years. Alongside, Yi also donated 125 sets of steel plates and mugs to Mitram Welfare Society which runs classes, computer training and other such work for children from financially weak families. Chapter under its SIG vertical also organized a hike to Santala Devi Trek with an objective to encourage members for a healthy living and conserving environment. During the hike, the group collected 3 bags of plastic waste found in the route and later disposed it properly.
