देहरादून। द हैरिटेज स्कूल के बच्चों ने राजधानी में आयोजित विभिन्न  स्पर्धाओं में प्रतिभाग कर अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज की। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने अपनी प्रतिभा को शानदार तरीके से प्रदर्शित करने का काम किया।

यहां द हैरिटेज स्कूल की प्रधानाचार्य डाक्टर अंजू त्यागी ने बताया कि द हैरिटेज स्कूल के प्रतिनिधियों ने द यूनिसन वर्ल्ड स्कूल में आयोजित दो दिवसीय सम्मेलन में भाग लिया। उन्होंने बताया कि यह द यूनिसन वर्ल्ड स्कूल मॉडल यूनाइटेड नेशंस 2023 सम्मेलन का तीसरा संस्करण था और द हैरिटेज स्कूल के जिन प्रतिनिधियों ने प्रतिनिधित्व किया उनमें युवराज चौधरी, गगन रस्तोगी, अंशिका राणा, सक्षम क्षेत्री,खुशी विजान और यशस्वी शामिल रहे।

उन्होंने बताया कि वहीं  आँशु भाषण में  प्रतियोगिता में विवेक बौड़ाई  और निबंध प्रतियोगिता में सिद्धि उनियाल ने द हैरिटेज स्कूल की ओर से प्रतिभाग किया। उन्होंने बताया कि इसके साथ ही मां आनंदमयी मेमोरियल स्कूल एमएएमएस रायवाला की थीम अंतर विद्यालय वाद्ययंत्र प्रतियोगिता जो आजादी का स्वर्ण महोत्सव पर आधारित था और जिसमें द हैरिटेज स्कूल से छह विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया और अपनी अमिट छाप छोडकर उप विजेता होने का गौरव हासिल किया। उन्होंने बताया कि इनमें  दर्शप्रीत कौर, निधि बिंजोला, अवंतिका कश्यप, कार्तिक उनियाल, कनिष्क पाल और अक्षय डोभाल शामिल रहे और इस स्पर्धा में द हैरिटेज स्कूल दूसरे स्थान पर रहा और अपने छात्र छात्राओं ने अपनी प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया।

In the eloquent debating arena of Brooklyn School, Category A ignited discussions on whether Youtubers can be rightfully deemed modern superheroes. The Red House presented Shreya Shamra, Aditya Tyagi who masterfully argued for the idea that Youtubers hold the mantle of superheroes, their impact resonating far beyond the digital realm. Naman Bhutani, also from the Red House, countered this viewpoint by emphasizing the distinction between digital influence and the heroic actions of real-life superheroes.

From the Blue House, Sahil Singh passionately championed the case for Youtubers as modern superheroes, citing their power to inform and inspire. On the opposing side, Udyanjali Ranghar, also from the Blue House, questioned the depth of their societal impact, suggesting that their influence might not be substantial enough to warrant such a label. The Green House witnessed Pawni Singh refuting the notion, while Nipun Shah passionately defended the idea that Youtubers indeed possess superhero-like qualities.

The Yellow House participants brought diverse perspectives to the table. Priyanka Khati argued against Youtubers as superheroes, whereas Jayaditya Dhundara contended that Youtubers can indeed wield influence for positive change while acknowledging potential pitfalls.

The judges used the following scoring format:- Content 15 Marks, Argument/Rebuttal 10 Marks, Appropriateness of Language 10 Marks, Delivery 10 Marks and Demeanor/Poise/Stance 5 Marks. The thought-provoking Category B debate centered on the moral implications of money and its role in our survival. Nikita Srivastava & Tejaswani Jakhmola from the Red House continued their impressive performances, with Nikita Srivastava asserting that money’s morality lies in its usage, while Tejaswani emphasized the need for ethical considerations in financial pursuits. The Blue House participants, Adi Akhtar and Varsha Patel, once again showcased their divergent viewpoints. Varsha argued that money, as a tool, can be harnessed for virtuous ends, while Varsha raised concerns about the ethical pitfalls tied to excessive financial ambition.

In the Green House, Ananya Tiwari delved into the moral ambiguities of money, while Vaishnavi eloquently portrayed the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to financial decisions. The Yellow House saw Aditya Rawat critically analyzing the moral facets of money, while Anushka, Prisha, accentuated its potential to uplift when channeled responsibly.

Brooklyn School took pride in hosting this intellectual showdown. Varsha Patel’s eloquence and persuasion earned her the coveted Best Speaker award. Prisha Dyondi secured the 1st Runner-up Speaker title. The Yellow House emerged triumphant as the winning team, their insightful arguments and collaborative efforts impressing the judges. The Yellow House also dominated the Horse Points, an overall excellence indicator.

Palak Kumar adeptly managed the score tabulation, ensuring transparency and fairness, while Kanishtha Nath Aswal expertly maintained the debate’s timing, upholding the event’s professionalism. The 37th Annual English Debate Championship at Brooklyn School showcased the institution’s commitment to fostering critical thinking and eloquence among its students. The debates not only illuminated diverse perspectives on contemporary issues but also demonstrated the participants’ dedication to articulating their viewpoints with grace and substance. As the event concluded, it was evident that the Brooklyn School had once again succeeded in creating an environment where young minds thrive in exploring the complexities of the world around them.

The results of the Debate were as follows; Middle School Winner House- Blue Runner up House-Yellow Best Speaker- Varsha Patel and 1st Runner up Speaker- Prisha Dyondi Senior School Winner House- Yellow Runner up House-Red Best Speaker- Priyanka Khati and 1st Runner up Speaker- Jayaditya Dhundara .Principal Manju Grover was the chairperson of this debate championship. Dehradun,5 Aug: Welham Boys’ School Model United Nations Conference (WELMUN-2023) was held at the Welham Boys’ School, with the theme ‘Transforming Conflicts to Transforming Conundrums’ as its foundation. This theme reflects the very essence of this day and age, as human minds are in a state of conflict over their beliefs, morals, ideals, resources, past, and future. The Conference witnessed hectic parleys, heated debates, and great camaraderie from August 3- 5 2023, with a large participation of 350 delegates from 27 leading public schools across India. The student delegates brought with them exciting new challenges and intellectual energy. 

This year the conference witnessed 7 committees simulating the United Nations Security Council, Disarmament and International Security Committee, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Women, Special Political and Decolonisation Committee, Lok Sabha, and the International Press Corps. Some very engaging and important issues discussed in the various committees were, ‘The Kuwait Crisis – 1991’, ‘The Humanitarian crises in Myanmar’ and ‘Deliberating upon measures to counter secessionism in India’ to name a few. This student-driven event was conducted by an Executive Committee comprising 35 student executive members. “Let there be light inside you, and let the light spread wherever you are”, said Ms.Radhika Jha, IAS, Secretary to the State of Uttarakhand during her opening address at WELMUN 2023 at Welham Boys’ School.

The Chief Guest spoke about the confluence of thoughts, ideas,and learning. She highlighted the significance of school mottos and how they inspire and shape the character of a student. She reiterated the importance of power of knowledge and  upholding a learner’s mindset. Ms. Radhika Jha concluded her speech by urging the students to discover their true potential and always strive to be aspirational. Arush Singh Kaintura as The Secretary General of WELMUN 2023 and the President of the Model United Nations Society headed the Secretariat and guided the delegates into thought-provoking discussions on an array of International Affairs through skills of collaboration, negotiation, and innovation. The Welham Boys’ School Model United Nations not only prepared the youth to experience and transform the World of Conflicts and Conundrums but has hopefully done its bit in preparing the leaders of tomorrow. The Best Delegation Trophy was awarded to The Doon School.

The topic for the Hindi Debate was,’ Aaj bharat ko samaan nagrik sahmita ki aavashyakta hai.’ The Hindi Debate was adjudged by Ms Vijaya Jugran, Dr Rupam Chaudhary and Ms Punam Chawla.

After the debaters had spoken out their thoughts , the Chief Guest shared his views on debating in general and congratulated each participant. The ceremony commence with a warm and spirited welcome speech by Saini Patwal and Kairvee Jhouta, both out standing students from standard tenth science. Their words resonated with gratitude for opportunity to serve and make a meaning ful impact within the school community. Following this the distinguish Principal, Manju Grover illuminated the ceremonial lamp, a symbol of dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in enlightenment followed by the school song “Knowledge is Life”. The assembly Ground was filled with sense of divinity and inspiration as Priyanka Khati recited soul stirring Sholakas, setting a contemplative atmosphere that invoked blessing and set tone of solemnity.

The highly anticipated badge pinning ceremony followed , where the outgoing council members gracefully passed the torch of responsibility to their newly elected counterparts, Each House’s Captain and Vice Captain received their respective badges from their House Master and House Mothers, signifying their commitment to lead and Inspire, Principal of the School, Manju Grover then administered the oath of allegiance and duty, reminding council members of their pivotal role in exemplifying integrity and upholding the principal of the institution. The Principal also pinned the badges onto the newly appointed Head Boy , Head Girl Discipline Prefects, Activity Captains, Debate Captains and Sports Captains, symbolizing their official roles and responsibilities.

Throughout the ceremony, motivating speeches were delivered by the head girl and head boy, Vishushi Nayak and Shubham Kumar, articulating their vision and aspiration for the school. In Sync with head girl and junior head boy, Aakshi Handa and Aditya Tyagi respectively, also tool the stage to share their heartfelt aspiration, promising to provide unwavering support to the senior council members while leaving their own positive imprint on the school community. The ceremony further unfolded with speeches from Debate Captains, Anshika Rawat and Jahnvi Semwal and Discipline Captain Aditya Tiwari. The School’s dynamic Sports Captain , Rakshita Thapa , then illuminated the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical well being, highlighting the holistic development that Brooklyn School values.

The investiture ceremony also served as platform to introduced the Junior School Council Members. Mohd Rehan was bestowed with the honor of Junior Head Boy, while Aradhya Negi proudly assumed the position of Junior Head Girl. Additionally, students were named as House Captains and Vice Captains for Red, Blue, Green and Yellow Houses, Shreen Khan, Vedika Thapa, Lavanya Kharola, Angel Farswan, Aarohi Panwar, Rajshri Thapa, Aarna Thapa and Aarohi Binjola. The Senior School council members were announced with Shubham Kumar shouldering the responsibility of Head Boy and Vidhushi Nayak stepping into the role of Head Girl. In the Junior category, the topic for and against was ‘It is not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.’ The young debaters passionately argued their points, emphasizing the value of sportsmanship and camaraderie in the pursuit of excellence.

For the Senior category, the topic for and against was ‘MNCs play the devil with the economy.’ The senior debaters delved into the complexities of the global economy, presenting compelling arguments that sparked thoughtful discussions among the audience.

After a rigorous evaluation process, the results were announced. In the Middle category, Ananya Garg(For) and Ekisha Awal(Against) were announced as the winners whereas, in the Senior category, Aryan Arora(For) and Gaurish Arora(Against) were announced as the winners.

The overall winner position was awarded to Rig House, whereas the second and third positions were bagged by Sama and Yajur House.

The judging panel included esteemed Nadira Ahmad. The competition was fierce, but the judges were deeply impressed by the level of preparation and articulation displayed by all the participants.

Principal B Dasgupta expressed her delight at witnessing the students’ passion for public speaking and critical thinking. She said, “The Inter House Debate Competition is an excellent platform for our students to hone their communication and analytical skills. I am proud of each participant’s effort and commend their dedication to engage in meaningful debates.”

During the day, an Inter Class Drawing Competition was also organised for the students of classes LKG to 5th. The results of the same will be declared later.

शिक्षा मंत्री डॉ. धन सिंह रावत ने कहा कि शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में गुणात्मक सुधार के लिए राज्य में तेजी से प्रयास किये जा रहे हैं। देश की रैंकिंग में हमारे 05 विश्वविद्यालयों के नाम हैं। इस बार एनडीए एवं सीडीएस की परीक्षा में राज्य से सर्वाधिक बच्चे चयनित हुए। राज्य में पहली बार मेधावियों को सम्मान देने का कार्य मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा किया गया है। राज्य सरकार छात्रों के बेहतर भविष्य के लिए समर्पित सरकार है। सरकार द्वारा मेधावी बच्चों के लिए चार छात्रवृत्ति योजनाएं चलाई जा रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि स्कूलों की प्रवक्ता व एलटी शिक्षकों की वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था के लिए प्रधानाचार्यों को नामित किया गया है। प्रदेश में अंक सुधार परीक्षा आयोजित की जा रही है। इस अवसर पर शिक्षा महानिदेशक बंशीधर तिवारी, वरिष्ठ पत्रकार उदय सिन्हा, दयाशंकर शुक्ल, कुलपति एवं अन्य गणमान्य मौजूद थे।

इस अवसर पर सेंट पैट्रिक एकेडमी ने भाप के माध्यम से ड्रीप इरिगेशन बखूबी प्रदर्शन कर महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी प्रदान की और मॉडल की बारिकियों को विस्तार पूर्वक समझाया गया। 

इस अवसर पर सेंट जोजफ्स एकेडमी के छात्र छात्राओं ने ट्रांसटयूबर के मॉडल को दर्शाया और उसके बारे में विस्तार से महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी प्रदान की ओर वहीं सेंट जूडस स्कूल के छात्र छात्राओं मोबाइल से कनैक्ट कर लाईट एंड साउंड सिस्टम के मॉडलों से विज्ञान की बारीकियों को समझाया और प्रदर्शित किया गया। इस अवसर पर सेंट जेवियर स्कूल के छात्र छात्राओं ने ड्रीप इरिगेशन पर अपना मॉडल प्रस्तुत किया और जानकारी प्रदान की। द हिमालयन स्कूल के छात्र छात्राओं ने दिये गये विषय के अनुरूप वेव नेचर और वर्किंग मॉडल पेश किया और जिसमें वाटर टैंक एवं प्लांट को प्रदर्शित किया गया। 

इस अवसर पर द ओयसिस स्कूल के छात्र छात्राओं ने ड्रीप इरिगेशन, थ्री डी स्टक्चर, द प्रेसीडेंसी इंटरनेशनल स्कूल ने थर्मल पावर प्लांट, दून ब्लासम स्कूल एवं दून प्रेसीडेंसी ने ने ड्रीप इरिगेशन के माध्यम से वाईफाई आदि को प्रदर्शित किया गया। इस दौरान क्रश ज्योति स्कूल एवं न्यू दून ब्लॉसम के छात्र छात्राओं ने भी ड्रीप इरिगेशन का मॉडल प्रस्तुत किया और उसके बारे में जानकारी निर्णायक मंडलों एवं शिक्षक शिक्षिकाओं व छात्र छात्राओं को प्रदान की।
